Sexual Dysfunction Evaluation & Treatment

Sexual Dysfunction

Sexual dysfunction (or sexual malfunction or sexual disorder) is difficulty experienced by an individual or a couple during any stage of a normal sexual activity, including physical pleasure, desire, preference, arousal or orgasm.

Low testosterone in men (and women) is a very common condition which can adversely affect how you live and age. Low testosterone is now known to be a risk factor for diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, dementia and even prostate cancer!

Males with low testosterone often exhibit symptoms such as irritability, joint pain, disrupted sleep, fatigue, memory changes, trouble concentrating, poor muscle recovery, poor response to exercise, and weight gain (especially around the waist). While the above symptoms are often seen early on, sexual symptoms such as low libido and erectile dysfunction often do not occur in males until levels are VERY low. While testosterone replacement is essential to restoring sexual function in patients who are experiencing sexual dsyfunction, restoration of normal levels of testosterone alone may not be sufficient to restore normal sexual function.

A simple blood test can tell if you may be suffering from low testosterone. The treatment is simple.  Dr. DeAn Strobel and her staff have many years of experience in treating males who suffer from testosterone deficiency.

Dr. Strobel is an experienced provider of testosterone pellet therapy using the BioTE Method. While various methods of testosterone replacement are available, the BioTE Method is the only one that offers sustained, constant delivery of testosterone which mimicks normal physiologic levles without the peaks and troughs seen often with other methods.

Treatment of sexual dysfunction depends on the cause as well as what particular issue is being addressed. Pain during erection or ejaculation or orgasm should be evaluated by a urologist. Other conditions may be treated through our clinic. These conditions are: low desire (or low libido), orgasmic dysfunction, premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. Patients experiencing these issues must be able to communicate with his healthcare provider his concerns so that treatment options may be discussed.
